Implant-Supported Dentures
Dental implants provide one of the most advanced and secure solutions for replacing missing teeth. By anchoring a denture to implants placed in the jawbone, implant-supported dentures offer significantly greater stability, comfort, and chewing ability compared to traditional dentures.
At Next Gen Dental, we offer both fixed implant dentures and removable implant overdentures, allowing us to suit your lifestyle, needs, and budget.
Fixed Implant Denture – All On 4 Or All on 6
Typically, four or six implants are placed in the jawbone, allowing the denture to be fixed in place onto the implants.
Advantages
- Excellent stability – Very secure does not move when eating or speaking.
- Feels closer to natural teeth
- Slimmer more natural design – no bulky flanges required. Designed to mimic natural teeth and gums.
Things to Consider
- Higher costs compared to Traditional dentures.
- Dental surgery is required to place implants.
- Regular maintenance is required every 6 months with a dentist to remove and clean the denture.
- Not suitable for every patient, due to bone health and medical history.
Over Denture – Removeable Implant Retained Denture
Implant overdentures are removable dentures that attach securely to dental implants using special inserts. While the denture can still be removed for cleaning, the implants provide significantly improved stability compared to traditional dentures.
This option is often recommended for patients who want better denture stability without the cost of a fully fixed implant solution.
Advantages
- Improved stability – implants secure the dentures in place compared to a traditional denture
- Reduced movement when eating and speaking
- More affordable than a fixed solution
- Better chewing ability
- Easy to remove for good oral hygiene practice.
Things to Consider
- Still Removeable – Denture must be removed to clean every night.
- Regular checkups required to maintain the attachments.
- Implants will need to be inserted by a dental professional.
- Maintenance required as rubber inserts can wear out over time.
- Additional implants may be required due to bone quality.
